Ariana Grande made an emotional stop on her Sweetener tour on Wednesday night, breaking down on stage as she sang about her late ex, Mac Miller, in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Fan videos from the concert show Grande struggling to get through the “Thank U, Next” lyrics about Miller: “Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm, ’cause he was an angel.” Miller’s full name was Malcolm McCormick.

Grande fans were heard cheering her on and singing the lyrics for her. According to fan accounts on Twitter, Grande also got choked up while performing “Raindrops (An Angel Cried),” a song believed to be about Miller’s death last September from a drug overdose at just the age of 26.
